To maximize the life and beauty of your flowers, it is IMPORTANT to follow the previous care tips as well as remove the first layer of protective guard petals. If petals are drooping or the flowers look wilted, NOT ALERT, IT IS NORMAL!. They are not a sign of damaged or old flowers. These petals were left on to protect your roses/flowers during shipping.
Before placing your roses - flowers in water, re-cut every stem about 2 inches/5cm diagonally cut is best as it exposes the maximum surface area for water uptake.
Use fresh cool water with the sachet of flower food provided. Cool water contains less oxygen and so lessens the likelihood of air pockets forming in the stems and the flower food not only feeds but reduces bacterial growth that blocks water take up.
Important: To promote flower opening, please place them in warm water containing fesh flower food.
Remove all leaves that will be under the water level. Remember that foliage must never be in contact with water
Always use a clean vase that should be about half to one third as tall of your flowers and keep the water topped up daily. Avoid metal containers.
The water level in the vase should reach 2-3 inches. Contrary to what some people believe, water has to be in contact with the stems only, not with the leaves.
If possible, add floral preservative solution to the water. This type of product can be obtained at any flower shop.
Do not place your roses in a very bright place. Put them preferably in a medium to low light place.
Keep flowers in a cool spot (65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit), away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, directly under ceiling fans, or on top of televisions or radiators. (Appliances like televisions give off heat, which causes flowers to dehydrate.) Most flowers will last longer under cool conditions.
Every other day, re-cut every stem about 1 inch.
Add water as flowers absorb it, or change it thoroughly, and do not forget to always keep the recommended water level.

Emergency Solutions For Roses!
If your rose bends and looks like it is wilted after using the above steps, remove the rose from vase, fill a small garden tub with water, and cut 1" off the bottom of rose again and totally submerge your rose in water. Shake the rose under water until air bubbles come out of the rose head. This works for me every time.
To give your roses a long life, it is recommended to change the water and cut a little of the bottom every 3 days.
